Ornamental Wheat
ABL01 Jim's Ornamental Wheat Mix
We have created a wonderful blend of ornamental wheat seed and
made it available in an economical package. This mix features a
blend of:
Blue Utrecht, One of the most decorative wheats we've
ever seen. We were fortunate to find a grower in Canada who
grows these wonderful plants, but the seeds are quite limited.
The blue heads with black beards bend over when mature. Holds
color and to stem well after drying.
Black Einhorn, A very special wheat that dates back
10,000 years to Ethiopia. Has flat, black heads that resemble
the heads of crested wheat grass.
Dwarf Indian, An unusual wheat that is short and very
upright with plump, round seeds. The heads resemble small
bottlebrushes.
Silver Tip, A large wheat growing 2-3 ft. tall with all
white heads and awns. Excellent contrast material.
Spring Red, This cool season, annual cereal grain offers
a reddish tint for arrangements an holds color well.
Egyptian Blocky, Unusual wheat with short head about 2"
long, seeds are uniquely arranged to form an almost square
head. Almost no awns at all.
Blended together to make a perfect mix for cut and dried
arrangements. It also makes border mix, as well as a classroom
mix to teach children about how grains are produced.
Harvest when straw is still streaked with green and kernals are
still soft to avoid heads shattering. A 20 gram pack ( 1/8 cup
) offers over 200 seeds.

ABL04 Jim's Premium Florist Blend Ornamental Wheat
Mix
This special mix features a blend of wheats for the production
of high quality floral materia, it features:
Moroccan Frost Spring Wheat, an easy to grow spring
duram with extremely long awns with frosty/velvety appearence
when harvested and dried green, or an excellent filler material
when allowed to dry in place, then harvested.
Velvet Giant Winter Wheat, a winter hardy wheat with
extremely huge pubescent heads developed expressly for floral
use.
Australian Blue Wheat, a tall spring durham wheat with
blue blocky heads when mature, and long awns.
Mesa Desert Spring Wheat, a spring wheat with large,
sprawling heads, strong stems and full awns. Excellent for
arrangements, good green or mature. A 20 gram pack ( 1/8 cup )
offers over 200 seeds.

Ornamental Oats
ABL02 Jim's Premium Ornamental Oat Mix
This is another premium blend that makes for lots of wonderful
material for cut and dried arrangements. Features a blend
of:
Forest Bouquet Ornamental Spring Oats, a vigorous spring
oat with short, club like seed heads famous for green harvest
and drying suitability. An excellent filler material.
California Red Oats, a good cereal type, it is also
grown to set nitrogen in soil. It is a preferred type for
arrangements, as it holds color very well.
Cayuse White Oats, these are cayuse awned, light yellow
kernels, medium-short, stiff straw. A good "hay" type filler
with beautiful tan seed heads.
Jerry Oats, a fast grower that produces dainty seed
heads for bouquets and drying. A 20 gram pack ( 1/8 cup )
offers over 200 seeds. Note: This is a

Ornamental Barley
ABL05 Jim's Premium Ornamental Barley Mix
Barley is another wonderful filler for bouquets, cutflower and
dried arrangements, it's use is starting to become much more
used in the floral industry.
We offer a premium blend of barley seeds featuring:
Moongold Barley, a very unusual two row barley with
striped yellow head.
Bearded Barley, a cool season, annual cereal grain.
Adapted to high altitudes with cold and short growing seasons,
this barley can be grown further north than any other cereal
grain. The bearded awns make wonderful dried arrangement
material.
Blackheart Barley, a new black bearded barley with a 2
rowed head with extra long awns and a favorite in the florist
trade. Note: This is a blended mix,
varieties are not separated.

TPF201 Conlon Barley ( Hordeum vulgare )
Specialty two-row malting barley makes wonderful dried material for arrangements.
This early-maturing barley has plump kernels, and is medium yielding with moderate lodging. Released by North Dakota AES in 1996. Plant in spring or summer.
2560 Colored Uprights Sorghum ( Sorghum bicolor )
Create classy fall decorations. Also makes an impressive
backdrop for sunflower plantings. Perfect for fall wreaths.
Appealing mix of red, gold, black and burgundy with every shade
in-between. Drought tolerant. Ht. 100-115". Cannot ship to

FA59 Texas Black Sorghum ( Sorghum bicolor )
This heirloom broom corn has gorgeous, shiny, black-coated
seeds.
Heavy producer with 8 to 12 stems/plant, each stem topped with
one 8-14" seed head. Harvest any time after developing but is
most striking once the black seeds develop and mature. Ht.
96-144". 2.5cc pack, about 40 seeds.
NB67 Old Country Broomcorn ( Sorghum nigra )
Robust green to dark brown oval inflorescence, for fresh or
dried arrangements, grows about 4 feet tall, provides a lot of
material per plant. 25 seeds per pack.
AT112 German Spelt
An old German Heirloom variety of spelt used for flour milling,
this is an ancient distinct species of wheat that makes a
wonderful flour for sourdough breads, and can be eaten even by
persons normally sensitive to wheat.
Of course, we offer it as an ornamental plant, it grows 4-5 ft.
tall with long, slender seed heads that droop when the seed is
ripe, very ornamental.
Ornamental Corn
1A327 Indian Art ( Cranberry ) Corn
This is an excellent ornamental corn made available by Rupp Seeds. It is a fast growing corn producing 8-9" ears of delightful cranberry colored kernals and good quality husks for fall decorations.
AW01 Wachichu Flint Corn
An old heirloom type with many uses. Slender 9-11" ears on a
7-9' stalk exhibit a spetacular range of colors and patterns.
Kernels have a hard, translucent seed coat. Vigorous bushy
plants (lots of tillers) make an effective wind break or an
excellent livestock forage. Tolerant to cool soils.
VUD004 Gorgeous Indian
107 days – F1 hybrid Extra long 9 in/22 cm ears with glossy flint kernels in breathtakingly beautiful colors. Sturdy plants are wind tolerant and produce very high yields of large, uniform ears. Isolate from other corns.
VUD005 Earthtones Dent
90 Days. This is an exciting new reselection from an heirloom, dent flour corn. The 8-10”
ears have beautiful muted colors in the ear. The colors are soft, earth tones of gold,
bronze, mauve-pink, green, browns and blues – great colors for fall sales. The attractive
ears can be used for fall decoration, ground into flour or used for feed for birds or other
animals.
VUD006 Fiesta
92 days. Matures 8 to 10 days earlier than most strains of Calico Indian corn. Ears average 8 1/2 in./21 cm in length with 50% purple husks. Shorter plants have some wind tolerance. Multicolored ears.
1A141 Sweet Rainbow Indian
Fiesta Hybrid Flint Corn. This unique Indian corn has various
tones of blue, red, yellow and white. This is earlier than
other Flint corn and averages 7 to 10 inch ears with 50 to 70%
purple husks. 101 days.
1A046 Bloody Butcher
An ornamental corn that is an excellent grain corn as well. The
large 8-9" ears are bright red and cover with white husks.
Excellent for fall decorations. 20-25 seeds per pack.
VL372 Red Stalker
A beautiful ornamental corn that bears bright red ears of corn
on bright red corn stalks. The whole plant can be used for
decorations. 20-25 seeds per pack.
1A045 Wilma's Pride Ornamental Corn
The most unique Indian Ornamental type you’ll ever find.
110 DAYS. Tall sturdy plants produce 8-11” ears ranging
from yellow and white, deep maroon red, solid yellow,
black-red, and a wide assortment of multicolored ears. We
believe this variety will soon command the large ornamental
marketplace. This one is a must for ornamental displays.
1A043 Hopi Blue Ornamental Corn
A native style, excellent for grinding meal. The real Indian
corn from American Hopi Indians. 100 days. 8-10 inch ears with
dark bluish kernels.
1A048 Ornamental Pod Corn
A step back to prehistoric times when each kernel of corn had
it's own husk. Makes a unique decorative item and the husks
range in shades of red, copper and brown. 25-30 seeds per

NB57 Australian Blue Wheat
Spring durum type, blue-black heads, long awns, for arrangements fresh or dried, grows about 36" tall.
Ornamental Popcorn
AW02 Dakota Black Popcorn
Excellent popcorn with great ornamental value. Unusual, dark
red to nearly black, pointed kernels producing two ears on a
5-7' plant, with an occasional white kernelled ear. Good stalk
strength and great seedling vigor, even in cold soils. Reliable
producer in both hot and cool growing seasons. 20-25 seeds per
pack.
1A044 Mini Blue Ornamental Popcorn
A very attractive mini size popcorn that is blue in color. Ears
are 4-6" long. Excellent popcorn. 25-30 seeds per pack.
1A317 Cutie Pops Popcorn
100 days. Multicolored miniature popcorn. Use as a 4 in./10 cm Indian corn for dried bouquets or harvest tiny rainbow colored seeds for miniature popcorn.
VL373 Strawberry Popcorn
Tiny 2" ears of deep maroon popcorn. A must for flavor and
ornamental appeal. 25 seeds per pack.
TPF204 Robust 997 F1 Hybrid Popcorn
7-8" ears on 8-9' plants with glossy, deep yellow kernels. Its high (45:1) expansion ratio makes it an extremely tender popcorn. Ears may also be used for fall decorating. The best variety for corn shoots.

AW07 Milo Maze
(Hybrid grain sorghum). Great for dried arrangements, great
birdfood. Great feed for livestock. Also popular for making
syrup. Drought resistant with exceptional standability. Adapted
to a variety of soils, although a rich, well drained, sandy
loam is ideal. High ratio of grain and leaves to a stalk.
Frequently grows to a height of 7 to 8 feet.
