Anacyclus Seed ( Perennial )

Carpet Daisy (Anacyclus depressus) is a delightful low-growing perennial that forms a dense carpet of finely divided, fern-like foliage covered with cheerful daisy-like flowers. The bright white petals, often flushed with rosy-pink on their undersides, surround brilliant golden-yellow centers that open fully in sunshine and gently close in the evening or during cloudy weather. This charming Mediterranean native is ideal for rock gardens, borders, and alpine plantings where its spreading habit creates a colorful groundcover throughout late spring and summer.

Garden Uses
Carpet Daisy is perfectly suited for rock gardens, alpine gardens, edging pathways, raised beds, trough gardens, retaining walls, gravel gardens, and sunny perennial borders. Its low, spreading growth makes it excellent for softening stone edges and filling spaces between larger plants. It combines beautifully with creeping thyme, aubrieta, candytuft, dianthus, sedum, armeria, dwarf campanulas, and other low-growing alpine perennials. It also performs exceptionally well in containers and window boxes where the flowers spill gently over the edges.

Growing Information
Carpet Daisy thrives in full sun and sharply drained soil. It prefers sandy, gravelly, or rocky conditions and is highly tolerant of poor soils, making it ideal for difficult sites where many plants struggle. Mature plants typically grow only 3 to 6 inches tall while spreading 12 to 18 inches or more, forming attractive mats of finely textured foliage. Once established, it requires little supplemental watering and is remarkably drought tolerant. Deadheading encourages additional flowering, although plants often bloom generously with minimal care. Seeds germinate readily when lightly covered with soil and kept evenly moist during establishment.
