One of the most popular wildflowers grown in the United States is also one of the easiest to grow from flower seeds. Used primarily for landscape beautification, it brightens up any setting. The Plains Coreopsis flower is bi-color with bright yellow tips on the petals and red centers. It is great for cutting, and each stem adds a whole flush of small flowers to arrangements. Butterflies love the nectar of Coreopsis blooms.
A hardy, upright annual, native to the southern United States, it has spread throughout much of North America. Leaves are finely divided occurring mostly in the lower portion of the plant. A prodigious bloomer, having vibrant yellow flowers with maroon centers. Prefers full sun in various soil types. An ideal plant for areas that have poor drainage or remain soggy for an extended period of time.
An excellent flowering plant for ditches, low lying areas, and flower mixes. Often forms large colonies in ditches along roadsides.
