LET986 Mira Amaranthus ( Amaranthus caudatus )

Mira Amaranthus is an extraordinary ornamental annual that produces long, cascading tassels in a beautiful blend of soft green, rose-pink, cream, and magenta tones. These impressive flower ropes can hang more than a foot long, creating a dramatic waterfall effect unlike almost any other garden flower. A unique selection of Love-Lies-Bleeding amaranth, Mira combines exotic beauty with vigorous growth, making it a spectacular focal point in flower beds, cottage gardens, and cutting gardens.

The massive trailing flower clusters begin forming in midsummer and continue lengthening as the season progresses. The unusual color combination creates a constantly changing display, with individual tassels often showing shades of cream, green, pink, and rose simultaneously. The result is a plant that looks almost tropical in appearance while remaining remarkably easy to grow.

Growing Information

Mira Amaranthus thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Plants typically reach 4 to 6 feet in height and can spread 2 to 3 feet wide. Strong stems support the impressive flower tassels, which often continue growing throughout the season.

Like other amaranths, Mira performs exceptionally well during hot summer weather and tolerates periods of drought once established. The flowers remain attractive for months and continue providing visual interest into autumn.
