Rockcress Grandiflora Mix Seeds

Rockcress Grandiflora Mix
IM116 Rockcress Grandiflora Mix ( Aubrieta )

Rockcress Grandiflora Mix (Aubrieta hybrida) is a colorful evergreen perennial mixture that creates a brilliant carpet of spring flowers in shades of purple, violet, lavender, pink, rose, magenta, and white. This low-growing alpine favorite forms dense mats of small gray-green foliage that spill gracefully over rocks, retaining walls, containers, and garden edges. Blooming in early to mid-spring, Rockcress Grandiflora Mix brings one of the first big splashes of color to the garden while providing valuable nectar for early bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects.

Garden Uses
Rockcress Grandiflora Mix is ideal for rock gardens, alpine gardens, retaining walls, pathway edging, raised beds, gravel gardens, containers, slopes, and sunny borders. Its trailing habit makes it especially attractive cascading over stones, spilling from planters, or softening the edges of walkways. It pairs beautifully with candytuft, creeping phlox, arabis, dianthus, sedums, creeping thyme, dwarf iris, and spring-flowering bulbs. Planted in groups, it creates a vivid spring tapestry of color.

Growing Information
Grow Rockcress Grandiflora Mix in full sun and sharply drained soil. Sandy, rocky, or gravelly soils are ideal, while heavy wet soils should be avoided. Plants typically grow 4 to 6 inches tall and spread 12 to 18 inches or more, forming evergreen mats that remain attractive after flowering. Once established, plants tolerate dry conditions well and need little maintenance. Lightly shear after blooming to keep plants compact and encourage fresh new growth. Seeds should be lightly covered and kept evenly moist during germination.
