Castle Pink Celosia is a compact plume-type celosia that produces masses of upright, feathery flower spikes in brilliant rose-pink shades. The strong, well-branched plants form neat mounds covered with vivid plumes that bring height, texture, and long-lasting color to summer gardens. Heat loving, easy to grow, and exceptionally showy, Castle Pink is an excellent choice for borders, containers, mass plantings, and fresh or dried flower arrangements.
Garden Uses
Castle Pink Celosia is ideal for flower beds, edging, borders, containers, combination planters, and low-maintenance summer displays. Its compact habit makes it especially useful near the front of borders, where the bright pink plumes create a strong ribbon of color.
The upright flower spikes add vertical texture and contrast beautifully with rounded flowers such as zinnias, marigolds, petunias, and gomphrena. Castle Pink also pairs well with yellow, orange, white, purple, and bronze-foliaged plants.
Growing Information
Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last expected frost or sow directly outdoors after the soil has warmed. Seeds usually germinate within 7 to 14 days at temperatures between 70° and 80°F.
Transplant outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Celosia grows best in full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, plants tolerate heat very well and continue blooming through the hottest months of summer. Water regularly during dry periods, but avoid overly wet soil.
Castle Pink typically grows 10 to 14 inches tall with a spread of 8 to 12 inches, making it a very useful compact annual for both garden beds and containers.
