SF193 Patio Snacker
We grow this almost year round. We start inside in late winter in 3 gallon containers for extra early cukes well before the garden is ready. We then grow some in the garden along with other cucumber varieties, then we plant more in tubs in late summer that we can keep in shady areas, having delicious cukes till almost winter.
This is a parthenocarpic variety, meaning it can set fruit even in conditions with low pollinator activity, such as screened-in porches or greenhouses. Features short-branching, compact vines that typically reach 3–5 feet in length. Produces dark green, crunchy, and juicy cucumbers that are 6–8 inches long. The skin is thin and bitter-free, making peeling unnecessary.
One of the quickest varieties to harvest, reaching maturity in 50–55 days. A high-yielding variety that provides a continuous harvest throughout the season if the fruit is picked regularly.
A compact, high-yielding hybrid variety bred for small spaces like patios and container gardens. Every gardener should try this one. It produces an abundance of crisp, bitter-free cucumbers on short, 3–5 foot vines. This continuous harvest variety is ideal for fresh eating, salads, and pickling.
