Dandy Dahlia Seeds

Pompom Dahlia.
MON145 Dandy ( Dahlia variabilis )

Dandy Dahlia is a delightful semi-double flowering dahlia that produces masses of colorful blooms featuring contrasting central collars and bright golden centers. This charming mix displays flowers in shades of red, crimson, scarlet, rose, pink, lavender, purple, yellow, orange, and white, often accented by a ring of smaller inner petals that create an elegant "collarette" effect. The cheerful blossoms rise above attractive green foliage and bloom continuously from midsummer until frost, providing months of vibrant color in borders, containers, and cutting gardens.

Garden Uses:
Dandy Dahlia is ideal for flower borders, cottage gardens, cutting gardens, pollinator plantings, patio containers, and mass displays. The compact yet floriferous plants fit beautifully into mixed annual beds and combine well with cosmos, zinnias, salvias, marigolds, celosia, and ornamental grasses. The unique collarette-style flowers make excellent cut flowers, adding color and character to fresh bouquets throughout the growing season.

Growing Information:
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost or sow outdoors after danger of frost has passed. Maintain temperatures of 70-75°F for best germination, which typically occurs within 7-14 days. Plants thrive in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Regular watering and occasional feeding encourage continuous blooming. Dandy Dahlia typically grows 18-30 inches tall and spreads 12-18 inches wide. Deadheading spent blooms helps maintain a steady display of flowers from summer through frost.
