W121 Minnesota Midget
Small early, 4" melons with sweet flavorful flesh. Large crops on compact 3' vines, good quality, a true midget! A favorite small melon introduced in 1948.
The fruits are petite, typically measuring about 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) in diameter, making them ideal single-serving melons. It has a deep, golden-orange flesh that is juicy, exceptionally sweet, and edible right down to the rind, with a classic muskmelon flavor.
The melon has a lightly netted, tan-colored skin and is slightly segmented by vertical ridges. The vines are compact, generally only 3 to 4 feet long, which makes the plant suitable for smaller spaces and container gardening.
It is an early-ripening variety, maturing in approximately 60 to 75 days, a key feature for northern gardeners with short summers.
