A cheerful annual flower blend known for its bright, open-faced blooms in shades of yellow, cream, orange, red, pink, rose, and soft pastel tones. Often called Monkey Flower, Mimulus produces charming flowers with spotted or marked throats that give each bloom a lively, expressive look. This mix is especially attractive in containers, hanging baskets, shaded borders, and cool-season displays where its colorful flowers can brighten areas that many sun-loving annuals may not favor.
Garden Uses:
Mimulus Twinkle Mix is excellent for containers, baskets, window boxes, porch planters, shaded patios, and the front of flower borders. Its compact habit and wide color range make it useful for mixed plantings with lobelia, alyssum, pansies, violas, ferns, and other cool-loving annuals. It is particularly valuable for adding color to lightly shaded areas, woodland-style gardens, and moist garden corners.
Growing Information:
Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost or start outdoors in mild conditions. Press the fine seeds onto the surface of moist seed-starting mix and do not cover heavily, as light can help germination. Keep evenly moist and maintain temperatures around 65-70°F. Germination usually occurs in 10-20 days. Plant in rich, moist, well-drained soil in partial shade to filtered sun. Mimulus prefers cool conditions and steady moisture, especially when grown in containers or baskets. Plants typically grow about 6-10 inches tall and bloom best in spring, early summer, or cool fall weather.
