Growing Information
Direct sow seeds outdoors after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed, or start indoors 4 to 6 weeks before transplanting. Plant seeds approximately 1/4 inch deep in fertile, well-drained soil. Germination usually occurs within 5 to 10 days at temperatures between 70–80°F. Select a location in full sun for the heaviest flowering and strongest stems. Plants typically mature 24 to 36 inches tall with a spread of 18 to 24 inches. Water deeply during extended dry periods, provide adequate spacing for good air circulation, and deadhead or harvest blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering until frost.
